WILDERNESS FIRST AID

This course creates a solid foundation in the basics of backcountry medical care.   Advanced Wilderness First Aid is a comprehensive medical training course designed for outdoor recreationalists or wilderness trip leaders who venture into moderately remote and challenging environments.


WILDERNESS FIRST RESPONDER
(WFR)

A wilderness first responder is trained to deal with many situations that may be encountered in the wilderness. This  course focus on teaching the participant to assess a situation, improvise solutions using available resources to stabilize the patient and identify the best way to get the patient to definitive medical treatment.  The curriculum is comprehensive and practical, including the essential principles and skills required to assess and manage medical problems in isolated and extreme environments.
WILDERNESS EMT UPGRADE (WEMT-U)

INTRODUCTION TO LIGHT URBAN SEARCH & RESCUE (USAR)

The Introduction to Light Urban Search & Rescue course is designed to meet the needs of the individual with more commitment to learning about the various skills needed to locate, access, and stabilize those missing in collapsed or damaged structures.  This is the perfect course for volunteer fire fighters, rural EMS providers and law enforcement agencies who have the potential threat of large numbers of victims trapped in debris and rubble or a community group wishing to provide these services to their area.
INTRODUCTION TO TERRORISM & WMD (ITW)

We have all watched CNN and heard them talk about various weapons from “dirty bombs” to chemicals we have never heard of before.  This course is designed to provide a basic understanding of those terms and others. Understanding and preparedness is the key to safeguard against the unthinkable.  The Jihad and other foreign terrorist groups are not our only concern - there are literally thousands of domestic terrorist groups being watched in the US.  This course will help you become more aware of your surroundings so that you can increase your own personal safety.
PROFESSIONAL RESCUER CPR (CPR-PRO)

This course is for the professional rescuer or healthcare provider.  Topics covered in this class include recognizing and caring for breathing and cardiac emergencies for adults, children and infants; two rescuer CPR; use of a resuscitation mask (pocket mask), and bag-valve mask. Also familiarizes participants with the use of an Automated External Defibrillation device for victims of sudden cardiac arrest. This course is recommended for medical professionals, lifeguards, aerobics/fitness sports instructors and public and private safety security employees.

Sudden cardiac arrest (SCA) is one of the leading causes of death among adults in North America. It can occur randomly, to anyone, at any time.  Early intervention is the key to survival.  CPR in conjunction  with the use of an AED saves lives!  This course will give you the skills required to make a difference.  This course covers adult, child and infant emergency care & AED.

Properly applied first aid can save your canine partner’s life, reduce recovery time and be the difference between temporary disability and lifelong disability. This course concentrates on basic first aid care and canine CPR. It is not intended to replace veterinary care, but rather to instruct the pet owner on how to save a pet’s life during an emergency or to minimize trauma after an injury.
BASIC FIRST AID (BFA)

At work, injuries and illnesses kill more than two million people in the world each year.  That's one death every 15 seconds... or six thousand people a day.  Safe practices and healthy choices at work, home and play can prevent injuries, illnesses, diseases and deaths.  However, once injury or sudden illness has occurred, providing effective first aid can make a difference between life and death; rapid versus prolonged recovery; and temporary versus permanent disability. This course focuses on what you must know and do in order to provide confident, effective first aid care.

This course  stresses the priority to keep you and the children you care for safe. Babysitting is not just “watching” the children, but being responsible for their safety and well being. When you are caring for a child, you are taking care of a parent (s) most prized possession. Everything in their home and your own home can be replaced— everything, that is, except a child.
